The Nehru Zoological Park is situated in the Bahadurpura area in Hyderabad, India. You can easily reach the Zoological Park by hiring the ever-available local transport within the city. The Nehru Zoo is a big sanctuary and is a hit among kids and elders alike. One must not miss visiting the zoo, as it is a welcome change from the concrete jungle. The Nehru Zoological Park is a vast wildlife sanctuary, spread over an area of about 300 acres of land with about 1500 species of birds, animals and reptiles. Some of the popular species of animals in the zoo are the Indian Rhino, Asiatic Lions, Royal Bengal Tiger and White Tiger, Black Panther, Giraffes and Black Bears. For those who seek adventure and thrill, there is an option of going on a jeep safari in the Lion Park, which is one of its kind in Asia. The Park homes both African as well as Indian Lions. Set your adrenalin rushing by watching the Big Cats feasting on freshly hunted prey at a distance of a few feet from you! Also in the premises is a Nocturnal Birds park which houses rare and exotic species of nocturnal birds and animals like owls, lemurs, etc. There is also a museum dedicated to pre-historic creatures that walked the face of this planet before humans were formed.
